Tayock Park is perfectly placed to enjoy the coast and countryside, Montrose is only minutes away and the cities of Aberdeen, Perth and Dundee are all within easy reach. Montrose is a thriving tourist town with many visitor attractions and a good selection of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There are excellent transport links; the main London to Aberdeen rail-line stops at Montrose, there is a frequent bus service and taxis are easily available.

Angus is a land of contrasts, from the astonishing scenery of the rolling hills and glens, to the sandy white beaches along the east coastline. There are seven towns in Angus, each with their own unique character, history and attractions, Arbroath, Brechin, Carnoustie, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Monifieth and Montrose – not to mention the maze of tiny villages nestled in between. The area has a wealth of attractions to explore if you choose to.

The Angus Coastline

There are endless walking routes in the region, for all abilities. Walk the famous Angus coastline which runs from Dundee through Carnoustie and its golf courses, then through historic Arbroath, famed for its smokies, to Montrose and on into Aberdeenshire. The coast offers a mix of wide sandy beaches and sandstone cliff formations. The inland section is made up of farmland, framed by a backdrop of the awesome Sidlaw Hills.

History and Culture

Angus is steeped in a rich culture and heritage. The area has museums, historic sites, castles and buildings to be enjoyed including Glamis Castle, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. Arbroath Abbey is where the Declaration of Arbroath was signed. Take a tour of the 18th Century, Georgian House of Dun just a 4 minute car journey from the park. Visitors are welcome at Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre or you can hop on board a steam train at the Caledonian Railway in Brechin.
